The Yoga Sūtra of Patañjali is a collection of Sanskrit sutras on the theory and practice of yoga - 195 sutras and 196 sutras. The Yoga Sutra was compiled sometime between 500 BC and AD400 by the sage Patanjali in India who synthesized and organized knowledge about yoga from much older traditions. In Vedic texts, it is common to encapsulate the whole teaching early in the discourse. Patanjali does this in the first few sutras, giving you the essence of what’s to come:
“Yoga is the progressive settling of the mind into silence.
When the mind is settled, we are established in our own essential state, which is unbounded consciousness.
Our essential nature is usually overshadowed by the activity of the mind”
Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras say that by learning to develop a certain introspective awareness, with a commitment to making objective observations of oneself, we can begin a journey away from the pressures and pains of daily life. We become able to see things as they are, with a greater sense of perspective. It is not escapism, but instead a kind of ‘waking up’.
Think of everything that you have always wanted to do. And think of what comes in the way of that. Even if it is hard to admit, the answer is – yourself. With this dynamic and powerful course on the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, you will unlock the key to all that you want from yourself, and your life.
Yoga Darshan is also known as Patanjali Yoga Sutra in the whole world and is the only authentic Yoga Granth. The Yoga has everything to give to the man who searched for it outside and did not find it. To the extent that even the divine traveling through the purity of body, heart, and mind gets installed in the form of God. Yoga is a lifestyle as well as life in itself. Whatever problems the modern world is faced with or will face in the future, the 99% solution to all those issues will be possible only through Yoga. Yoga is also called Samadhi, which means solution.
